SMS Opt-In Process

Where opt-in happens

Customers opt in while creating or editing a campsite watch in their California Camp Watcher account. After choosing the campground(s), dates, and minimum stay, the customer reaches the alert settings. Providing a mobile phone number is optional. To receive SMS alerts, the customer must enter a valid mobile number and affirmatively select a separate consent checkbox that is unchecked by default.

A live HTML depiction of the consent step is available at https://www.calicampwatch.com/sms. Customers can save and use a watch without entering a phone number or selecting the SMS checkbox.

“By checking this box, I agree to receive recurring automated transactional campsite availability and scheduled-release alerts from California Camp Watcher, operated by Curbly Labs LLC, at the phone number provided for the campgrounds, campsites, and dates I select. Message frequency varies based on campsite activity and my scan settings. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out. Consent is not a condition of purchase. What customers receive

Messages are transactional alerts only. They notify customers when a scheduled check finds California state-park campsite availability matching the campgrounds, campsites, dates, and stay length selected by the customer, or when a matching campsite approaches its scheduled release time. We do not send marketing or promotional messages. Message frequency varies with campsite activity and the customer's scan settings. Message and data rates may apply.

Consent records and opting out

California Camp Watcher records the consent timestamp and sends SMS only when both a valid mobile number and affirmative consent are stored. Changing the number requires new consent. Customers can revoke consent at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for assistance.

We do not share, sell, or otherwise provide mobile phone numbers or messaging consent information to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
